Snapshot

Althea Network

Snapshots allows a new node to join the network by recovering application state from a backup file. Snapshot contains compressed copy of chain data directory. To keep backup files as small as plausible, snapshot server is periodically beeing state-synced.

Snapshots are taken automatically every 12 hours

Quick setup

One liner to get moving quickly

sudo systemctl stop althea
cp .althea/data/priv_validator_state.json .althea/priv_validator_state.json.backup
rm -rf .althea/data
curl -L https://snapshots.lavenderfive.com/testnet-snapshots/althea/althea_487913.tar.lz4 | tar -Ilz4 -xf - -C .althea
mv .althea/priv_validator_state.json.backup .althea/data/priv_validator_state.json
sudo systemctl start althea && sudo journalctl -u althea -f --no-hostname -o cat

Stop althea and reset the data

sudo systemctl stop althea
cp .althea/data/priv_validator_state.json .althea/priv_validator_state.json.backup
rm -rf .althea/data

Download latest snapshot

curl -L https://snapshots.lavenderfive.com/testnet-snapshots/althea/althea_487913.tar.lz4 | tar -Ilz4 -xf - -C .althea
mv .althea/priv_validator_state.json.backup .althea/data/priv_validator_state.json

Restart althea and check the log

sudo systemctl start althea && sudo journalctl -u althea -f --no-hostname -o cat
