Snapshot

Snapshots allows a new node to join the network by recovering application state from a backup file. Snapshot contains compressed copy of chain data directory. To keep backup files as small as plausible, snapshot server is periodically beeing state-synced.

Snapshots are taken automatically every 12 hours

Quick setup

One liner to get moving quickly

sudo systemctl stop fairyringd
cp .fairyring/data/priv_validator_state.json .fairyring/priv_validator_state.json.backup
rm -rf .fairyring/data
curl -L https://snapshots.lavenderfive.com/testnet-snapshots/fairyring/fairyring_1647916.tar.lz4 | tar -Ilz4 -xf - -C .fairyring
mv .fairyring/priv_validator_state.json.backup .fairyring/data/priv_validator_state.json
sudo systemctl start fairyringd && sudo journalctl -u fairyringd -f --no-hostname -o cat

Stop fairyringd and reset the data

sudo systemctl stop fairyringd
cp .fairyring/data/priv_validator_state.json .fairyring/priv_validator_state.json.backup
rm -rf .fairyring/data

Download latest snapshot

curl -L https://snapshots.lavenderfive.com/testnet-snapshots/fairyring/fairyring_1647916.tar.lz4 | tar -Ilz4 -xf - -C .fairyring
mv .fairyring/priv_validator_state.json.backup .fairyring/data/priv_validator_state.json

Restart fairyringd and check the log
